Joanna and Miguel married in Madrid on Friday 24th May 2002. the weather had been mixed all week, but, on the day, it was glorious. With clear blue skies and temperatures in the low 20s. The civil ceremony was very brief and was followed by photos in a nearby park and then everyone went to a village called Chinchon (about 1 hour's drive away ) to a reception in a Parador. The setting was magnificent. Paradors are famed as luxury hotels and this one lived up to its reputation, beautifully decorated and with a lovely Rose Garden. There were about 19 guests, mainly family and a few friends.The meal was Lamb and was really very good. After the meal, toasts to the Bride and Groom were made by everyone going around the room and 'clinking glasses', quite a melee but good fun.
