Julia and Thomas live in Schwerin ( www.schwerin.de ) which is in North Germany, in the district of Mecklenburg Vorpommern. They have recently bought a house in the South West of the city, at Stadion Strasse.The house is a semi on a plot where there are about a dozen houses. They are fairly near to the Ostorfer see which is a small lake to the west of the main lake, the Schweriner See.Between them and the Schweriner See is another lake called the Fauler See, about 2 minutes walk away. They will miss the short walk to the main lake with its beautiful beach and extensive views, but they are surrounded by countryside and have very good public transport links with the town ( about 20 minutes walk ) and other amenities such as the beach and the Zoo.

Thomas works as a psycho-therapist in the Klinik on the lakeside. Julia is very occupied with church administration and teaching English. Schwerin is in what used to be East Germany. There is an urgent need for English Language training. This is a very pretty area of Germany, close to the Baltic Sea and surrounded by lakes. Travel in all directions is very easy with good road, rail and air services. Major airlines use Hamburg ( about 1 and a 1/2 hours away ) and the 'no frills' airlines use Lubbeck which is about 1 hour away.

A big change to the lives of Julia and Thomas occurred in March 2003, with the arrival of Christian.  J & T's first foster child. He came into their lives a few days before his first birthday ( 1st April ) and has been a wonderful gift. He is a bright, lively boy with ceaseless energy and fills their whole day.

Now the family has been joined by DOMENIK. Domenik is 5 months old and came to Julia, Thomas and Christian on the 25th November 2005. Initially, he will be fostered but, hopefully this will lead to adoption . See photos below:
