For 20 years the life of this side of the family was dominated by RAF service. Whilst Victor was undergoing flying traning he was moved frequently which was very disruptive. 8 moves in the first 6 years of the marriage was particularly unsettling for the children and tough on Brenda who often had to cope with illnessess without family support. In 1975 when Victor was posted to RAF Brize Norton, the family moved to Highworth ( near Swindon ) and this was to become the family base for the next 24 years which enabled Julia and Andrew to have a settled secondary education at a very good comprehensive school.Julia and Andrew both went on to take Degrees. Julia in European Studies both in France and England and Andrew in Electronic Systems. Inexplicably, they have both, by various routes, ended up in Germany.
